1. KEEP CALM
Being calm is the first rule that changes when responding to temper tantrum. Keep calm and don’t get engaged.
At this point the person with the temper has a high adrenaline pulsing thus wanting a response, a reaction from you, but at this point you have to have absolute self control not to succumb to this excesses
2. BE UNDERSTANDING
Keep in mind that because tantrums often come from people who can’t self console and they might feel ignored and unloved.
Make them know you understand why they are upset. Showing empathy and Understanding can go a long way in making the other person feel safe and loved.
3. GIVE THEM SPACE AND LEAVE THEM TO COOL OFF BEFORE TRYING TO START UP ANY CONVERSATIONS.
Avoid trying to reason at this point because at this phase, they are not thinking straight.
